What might a teenager notice about how caregivers coordinate their responses to peer conflict?

Adolescents describe adult coordination alongside peer relationships and relational aggression. Their perspective adds a different viewpoint from a parent-only account.

Who was studied?

550 students from three junior high schools in Inner Mongolia completed questionnaires.

Age / stage: Junior high school

Read with three questions

  1. Are the proposed pathways based on observed changes or questionnaires completed at one time?
  2. Which measures came from the same participant, and which had an independent source?
  3. How might the division of care in a different household affect how the findings apply?

Keep the limits in view

A cross-sectional account measures variables in the same period. It cannot establish which came first; participants reporting more than one measure may also introduce shared reporting bias.
