Are parents and employers at the table when support programs are designed?

Maps advice, command, funding and information networks, asking whether employers and the women affected have meaningful influence in intervention design.

Study context

12 interview partners from 10 organizations involved in workplace breastfeeding interventions in Mexico.

Age / stage: Adult policy and implementation stakeholders.

Read with three questions

  1. Which actors occupied central positions in each network?
  2. How were advice, authority, funding and information connections distinguished?
  3. Why did the authors call for a larger role for employers and women in decision-making?

Keep the limits in view

Network maps depend on a small set of informants and do not demonstrate that centrality or adding an actor improves implementation or family outcomes.
