How does the change in elevation of coastal mountains caused by introduced species like eucalyptus contribute to the increasingly dry seasons in the Bay Area?

Public project summary

The goal of this research project will be to identify any causal relationships between invasive species and the longstanding water shortage. The research will be conducted by analyzing past and present weather data and the biology of these species in conjunction with observational data different sites in the Bay Area. The goal is to see if water usage, introduced elevation, and other diversions of precipitation potentially caused by invasive are impacting the amount of water that resides in our watersheds.
