Interpretation limits

Dental attendance, access, health behavior and prodromal cognitive decline may confound or reverse the association. This is not a randomized prevention trial; the authors' suggestion that scaling reduces dementia incidence should not be presented as proven treatment efficacy.

Publication status check

No retraction or correction notice found in the checked sources. Publisher-supplied full-text XML (article title/type and related notices), Europe PMC core publication types, and publisher-deposited Crossref update-to/updated-by/relation metadata checked on 2026-10-22. Bounded record checks are not a comprehensive guarantee of article integrity; Crossref and repository metadata may be incomplete or lag publisher updates.
