Is there a correlation between the rate at which a pulsar loses rotational energy and the non-thermal radiation and bulk kinetic energy of expansion of its supernova remnant?

Pulsars have been at the center of astronomical research since their discovery in 1967. This project examines the correlation between the rate at which a pulsar loses rotational energy and the non-thermal radiation and bulk kinetic energy of expansion of its supernova remnant. It has been shown, using the Crab pulsar-nebula system, that the rate of decrease of energy has a strong correlation to the energy in the surrounding nebula. This study will analyze the applicability of this relationship to other pulsar-nebula systems.
